Let’s continue the journey to see some of its amazing views. This time I will take you to some of the city’s historic sights.

Isaac Boro Park

Compared to the other locations we have seen so far, Isaac Boro Park is one of the few locations with some historic connotation associated with it. Named after one of the pioneers’ of minority civil rights in the Niger Delta, Isaac Jasper Adaka Boro, the outdoor recreation space is located in Old GRA, opposite Mile One Bridge.

The vast space holds beautiful greenery, a playground, pavilion and different military statues that add to the beauty of the space. This also pays homage to the men and women who go to war and fight to defend the country.

The venue is host to many memorable activities in the state such as the Armed Forces Remembrance Day, Workers Day and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) send-off parade ceremony.

Port Harcourt Club

Just like the Civic Center and Isaac Boro ParkPort Harcourt Club is one of the oldest venues in the state. Known for its prestigious Golf Course, the Club is also home to many sporting facilities such as a swimming pool, volleyball court, tennis court, table tennis, basketball court, and a gym.

Though the club is mostly for its members, it also has a hall that it rents out to the public depending on the event. It is amazing for a quiet time to relax and have a drink with friends.
