Driving through the city of Abuja, you are greeted by high rise buildings which are either government offices, corporate, or branch offices of companies. These often give off the city as one of work, work, work, and no play. This is a misguided conclusion because right in the middle of the city is a place of fun and recreation called Central Park Abuja.

Located at plot 174, Kur Mohammed Avenue Central Business District, adjacent to Kebbi Hotel is Central Park that sits on 45 acres of land. It houses a beautiful and lush green environment that speaks to your soul whenever you seek a place to relax and wind down after much work.

The park has some activities that keep you engaged in a fun way; it offers the experience of being your own Sylvester Stallone character in The Expendables movie franchise when you and your family, “peeps”, or even co-workers try out the paintballing activities. For those unfamiliar with paintballing, it is a fun game where you are kitted like soldiers and armed with paintball guns to shoot your enemy with paintball pellets.

If you don’t like the paintballing action, you can opt for the Go-Kart adventure, where you exhibit your driving skills and emulate the experience such as Lewis Hamilton on a 500m race track. Whatever category you belong to, either junior, adult, or pro, they’ve got just what suits you with guaranteeable safety. You won’t get pulled over or given a speeding ticket, and furthermore, you don’t need to have a driver’s license to engage in this activity.

Seeking more fun, or just a place to sit, relax, and watch other people having fun? The park has a playground, waterpark, a waterfall, and a pond to heighten recreational fun. With Central Park, the fun never ends just in line with its theme “Where fun and nature meet”.

The beautiful flowers and decorations that adorn the environment offers a man-meets-nature scenery, with the potential to cater to outdoor events such as wedding receptions, birthday parties, concerts, etc. These add flavor to any prospective event.

And when your tummy rumbles, “Tapas on the Green” has got you covered. This is the park’s casual restaurant that presents the park visitor with mouth-watering dishes ranging from Nigerian to Indian cuisines. I opine that they have an amazing and affordable menu.

The rhetoric that “Abuja has no fun” can now be challenged because Central Park has got loads of it so feel free to indulge in the experience and enjoy the fun and adventure of Central Park!
