Backstory
GruvCity was founded with passion!
From the memories of a young Port Harcourt boy that experienced the vibrance of his city and townships, the camaraderie of friends, and the culture of a people of many localities, ethnicities and backgrounds.
I remember house parties in the city, riding horses on Tourist Beach, the greenery of Polo Club, playing tennis and later, some suya and cinema at Port Harcourt Club. The street carnivals in Port Harcourt main town including the boli, roasted fish and corn; picnics at Isaac Boro Park, end of year festivals, masquerades and beach parties in Okrika.
These are some causes for GruvCity, to revitalize the cityscape by ideally portraying such activities, events and venues to indigenes, tourists and interested visitors. GruvCity is an idea, to host indigenes, tourists, and visitors within our cities.
Who we are
We are curators and connoisseurs. Curators because we seek and promote the ideals that allow life and positive growth within urban scapes and connoisseurs by remaining knowledgeable of those gems that enhance our urban scapes.
We are urban programmers that aim to enhance the “city experience” for indigenes, tourists and visitors by highlighting the positives, increase the audience reach of their events and add vibrance to the city. We apply multimedia for event advertising and promotion of public-centered brands, businesses, establishments, and where essential, private events. In attempting to enhance the city experience, we offer free directory listings for venues of entertainment, hotels, leisure, recreation, transportation, etc. So whenever you think, “What’s there to do in this city?”, think GruvCity!
